Hey gals and gents, its InterNERD time! Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting dolls. I had no idea this was a thing, until I kept seeing more and more pictures of them. It’s pretty cool, except it’s too adorable! The toughest most bad ass dude you wanted to amigurumi is going to turn out cute and cuddly. I’ll show you what I mean. Here are the coolest, nerdiest amigurumi I found on the InterNERD.
Amigurumi ATHF. Aqua Teen Hunger Force here ready for action. This came from Nerdigurumi.com, they have a ton of patterns and tutorials if you wanted to try creating one yourself!
Amigurumi Mythbusters. Adam and Jamie have never looked more endearing. That could be a myth they try to bust on a future episode.
Amigurumi Optimus Prime. This Optimus Prime is pretty rad. If a dog plays with him, he would probably transform into a pile of yarn.
Amigurumi Mario. Here we have Mario and Fire Mario looking rather surprised. These are on sale right now on Etsy for $20 bucks each.
Amigurumi Exorcist. Ha this is great. A scene from the movie The Exorcist where she projectile vomits all over the priest. Thanks to amigurumi, one of the most disturbing movie scenes in history is now cutified.
Amigurumi Daleks. From Dr. Who the killing machines Daleks are looking rather diabolical. They will exterminate you with their cuteness.
Amigurumi Jake. Adventure Time’s Jake the dog. He probably doesn’t stretch but he looks awesome just the same.
Amigurumi Star Wars. These Star Wars ones are awesome. I was kind of on the fence about trying this craft, this might have sealed the deal.
Hey there ladies and lads, welcome back to the InterNERD! We have done Amigurumi Part 1 and Amigurumi Part 2 before, and I don’t know what has taken me so long to do a part 3, because these are so awesome. Pretty much everything crochet into dolls becomes adorable. Here are the coolest, nerdiest amigurumi I found on the InterNERD.
Amigurumi Marvin. Aw even in amigurumi form Marvin looks sad! The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy mopey robot was created by Etsy user MoonsCreations.
Amigurumi Hellboy. Looking like even little Hellboy needs his cat friends close by!
Amigurumi AT-AT. The Star Wars All Terrain Armored Transport doesn’t look so fierce made out of yarn. I think even a Ewok could take this one down.
Amigurumi Elephant Man. Ha this is pretty creative. Joseph Merrick never looked so cute. Created by MaffersToys, you can check out his DeviantArt page for more great amgurumi.
Amigurumi Addams Family. Gomez, Morticia, Pugsley, and Wednesday are all here! Great likeness with these designs.
Amigurumi Hit Girl. This Hit-Girl amigurumi is sweet, the eyes on the mask, and her utility belt look really cool. Made by Etsy user NerdDollz, this is currently on sale for $24.99!
Amigurumi Grumpy Cat. When most internet memes have a life-span of 6 months, it seems Grumpy Cat is here for the long run! It’s probably the attitude.
Amigurumi 20 Sided Die. The mark of a true nerd is the 20 sided die! D&D dice is the calling card of nerds everywhere.
Amigurumi Big Daddy. From the video game Bioshock, Big Daddy is looking great. Made by Etsy artist LilKillerCuties, you can actually purchase this Big Daddy for $65 bucks!
Amigurumi Goonies. Oh yeah! Chunk and Sloth from the Goonies are even best friends in amigurumi form. Chunk is even doing the truffle shuffle!
Amigurumi Deadpool. This is pretty cool, Deadpool as a Sackboy! Deviant Art artist Sackboyncostume does amigurumi dolls exclusively as Little Big Planet Sackboys, check out his gallery!
Welcome back to the InterNERD! We have done FOTI Amigurumi, Part 2, Part 3, and now a fourth installment of the adorable knitted dolls. These are all pretty rad. Here are the coolest, nerdiest amigurumi I found on the InterNERD.
Amigurumi BB-8. The droid from The Force Awakens really stole the show. It’ll be cool seeing how it interacts with older droids in upcoming Star Wars films.
Amigurumi Death Star. Before leaving the Star Wars universe, this Empire’s ultimate weapon is having a cute amigurumi Death Star.
Amigurumi Q-Bert. I like retro video games and arcade classics, but never played much Q-Bert. This is pretty rad none the less!
Amigurumi Where The Wild Things Are. Oh ya, the classic book gets the amigurumi treatment. These were made by Ophelie over at AHookAmigurumi.com.
Amigurumi Russell. The Explorer Scout Russell from Up looks great! The creator put a ton of detail in this piece.
Amigurumi Nutella. Haha, amigurumi doesn’t always have to be dolls. This Nutella jar is cool and makes me want some Nutella now.
Amigurumi Vault Boy. From the Fallout series, Vault Boy the Vault-Tec mascot is the perfect post-apocalyptic companion.
Amigurumi Skeletor. The He-Man baddie looks great in yarn. Very menacing!
Amigurumi Bubble Bobble. I’m 90% sure this character is from the Bust-A-Move video games, and they are the Bubble Bobble guys. However I could not find his name, if you know this Orko looking wizard’s real name, comment below!
Amigurumi Iron Man. Tony Stark and his amigurumi armor suit. I like how they made the helmet detachable.
