Found On The InterNERD: Nesting Dolls

Greetings boys and girls, it’s InterNERD time again. This week I dive into the Russian nesting dolls. Russia is a magical place it seems, Sara Palin can see it from her house, meteors attack it, and dolls like to sit inside of other dolls. Matryoshka doll, the nesting doll was first created in 1890. So this is a rich cultural tradition over there. Here are the coolest, nerdiest nesting dolls I found on the InterNERD.

Dr. Who Nesting Dolls. Yep, there is a lot of room in that Tardis. Whoever did these nesting dolls did some great likenesses on the characters.

Cellphone Nesting Dolls. This one is pretty rad, it is pretty much the evolution of cellphones. The original was so giant!

Adventure Time Nesting Dolls. These great nesting dolls were created by artist LePandapants. Check out his great work on his deviantartpage.

Steve Jobs Nesting Dolls. The late great Steve Jobs is represented here in nesting doll glory. The Apple guru makes a great piece.

Invader Zim Nesting Dolls. The cult classic cartoon Invader Zim is done wonderfully here in the creators Jhonen Vasquez style.

Byte Nesting Dolls. This would actually be a good learning tool. I’m always forgetting which is bigger, and all the tech lingo. Not visually cool like the rest of the list, but still a good idea.

Star Wars/Simpsons/Ghostbusters Nesting Dolls. These are incredible! Such a good paint job on all of these. Done by Andy Stattmiller, you can view more of his amazing work on his website.
