Found On The InterNERD: Sand Castles Part 2

Hey it’s InterNERD time! We did FOTI Sand Castles last summer, we are totally due for a Part 2. Keep in mind the term sand castle is thrown out there pretty loosely. These are more like sand sculptures and sand art in general. Here are the coolest, nerdiest sand castles I found on the InterNERD.

Robocop Sand Castle. The Guinness Book of World Records has Blankenberge as the biggest sand castle event ever. From that event, this Robocop against a demolished sand wall is great!

Hitchcock Sand Castle. The master film director Alfred Hitchcock is fully detailed out in all his glory. The bird is a nice touch too for this tribute.

LOTR Sand Castle. Gandalf, Frodo, and Gollum are all represented in this massive Lord Of The Rings sand sculpture.

Darth Vader Sand Castle. There is actually a bunch of Darth Vader sand art out there. I really like this one, Darth is sitting down with a giant Stormtrooper helmet.

Mario Sand Castle. Good ol’ Jumpman back at it! Love the Nintendo Gameboy in the background.

Simpsons Sand Castle. TV’s longest running animated family The Simpsons are sandified on their classic couch.

TMNT Sand Castle. Haha, this one might by the most simplistic one on the list, but I really like it. Created by Tom Greene with a handful of other college kids, you can check out this sand castle on his blog.

Mr. & Little Miss Sand Castle. The classic children books by Roger Hargreaves are all done up in a big pyramid! I remember reading a bunch of these Mr./Miss books.

Iron Man Sand Castle. The Marvel superhero is looking pretty rad made of sand. This one is pretty funny, you can see E.T. on one side and the Predator on the other!

Muppet Sand Castle. Oh yeah, this tremendous sand sculpture is made up of Sesame Street characters!

Batman Vs Hulk Sand Castle. This is like one of those many nerd arguments, who would win in a fight? Well, I would have to say as soon as Hulk gets a hit in–it’s over!

Thanks for tuning in. So many talented sand artists here, it really is a cool medium to see. Have any nerdy sand castles to share with us? Email or share them through our Facebook page. Like us so you are part of our community. Tune in next week to get your nerd fix.
