InterNERD Classic: Lego Art

This week’s InterNERD is a classic. Let’s take a look back at the original Found On The InterNERD: Lego Art! Since the first Lego Art we have done a Part 2 and a Part 3 also. Lego sculptures are so rad, there will definitely be a new installment in the future. We’ll be back with an all new FOTI next week.

Greetings nerds, thanks for tuning in. This week’s InterNERD is dedicated to Lego! The 50 year old block that is more popular than ever. There are a lot of Lego franchises now sold in stores: TMNT, Marvel, Star Wars, LOTR just to name a few. I want to showcase the work some artists are able to make using Lego blocks. Here are the coolest, nerdiest Lego art I found on the InterNERD.

Lego Homer. D’oh! This Homer Simpson is done with a lot of Lego’s. I don’t know if Homer would approve not having Duff in his hand though.

Lego Sonic. Here we don’t have a statue but a flat Sonic piece, would be perfect for displaying on a wall. Done by artist Meufer, you can check out his other Lego 8 bit creations here!

Lego LOTR. These Lord Of The Ring Lego sculptures were on display at New York Comic Con last year, to tie in with the Lego LOTR video game. Gandalf’s beard is awesome!

Lego Linux. Some people are Linux crazy. Here we have a die-hard fan of the operating system assemble the Linux penguin Tux out of Lego’s.

Lego Breaking Bad. Ha this is great, somebody made the Breaking Bad rolling meth lab from the show out of Lego’s! They did such a good job too, that Walter White Lego guy is awesome.

Lego Darth Vader. Taking many many black Lego bricks to complete this Darth Vader. I think the Sith Lord would be pleased.

Lego Conan O’Brian. The late night Sith Lord, Conan O’Brian is represented here in all its Lego glory. Beautifully created by Lego artist Nathan Sawaya.

Lego Stephen Hawking. Not only giant sculptures make this list, this Stephen Hawking miniature Lego figure is wonderful! The wheelchair-bound theoretical physicist is ready to take on quantum mechanics.

Lego Futurama. This is totally well done, it looks like it could have been a Planet Express playset. Done by Matt De Lanoy, he custom painted Lego men to look like the Futurama characters! The gallery can be found here.

So many Lego’s, now I want to build something! Back To The Future Lego’s are on the horizon, Lego has become a big part of pop culture. If you have an awesome pic of a Lego masterpiece you found or did yourself, share them with us! Share them through our Facebook page. Tune in next week to get your nerd fix!
